"Sequencing" Games

Deep Sea-Quence is a challenging game that helps students hone their addition and subtraction skills. Students select the correct numbers that will continue a specified sequence.

Deep_seaquence Screen

Each game begins with a specific sequence, such as "n + 1." As pearls rise from the ocean floor, a random “seed number” starts the sequence. Additional single pearls display numbers that continue the sequence (n + 1). When a group of three pearls with red numbers appear, click on the correct number that will continue the sequence. If you click on the correct number, it will turn black. If you make a mistake and click on an incorrect number that does not continue the sequence, the correct number will be shown in green, and a 10-second clock will appear. If you can go 10 seconds without a second mistake, the clock disappears and the game continues. If you select another incorrect number while the clock is still running, the game ends and you will be credited with the points earned. (The clock is 10 seconds in games 1 to 5, 15 seconds in games 6 to 10 and 20 seconds in games 11 to 15.)

At the end of each game, points will be converted into "stickers":
40-90 points = 1 sticker
100-150 points = 2 stickers
160-210 points = 3 stickers
220-270 points = 4 stickers
280-310 points = 5 stickers
320-350 points = 6 stickers
360 points = 8 stickers

There are four rounds of play with 15 games each. Each game contains six levels that increase in speed and difficulty as players progress through each level. When you advance to the next level, the stream moves faster, and the sequence changes. Levels 5 and 6 present two streams to play simultaneously.
Round 1 – addition
Round 2 – subtraction
Round 3 – addition/subtraction
Round 4 – addition/subtraction with two streams of sequences on all six levels.

After all rounds have been completed, Deep Sea-Quence can also be played in PRACTICE mode, where players can select the level of difficulty. (No stickers are earned in Practice Mode).
